BigLift Shipping and sister company Spliethoff, both members of the Amsterdam-based Spliethoff Group, together operate a modern fleet of some 66 vessels, including 16 specialized heavy transport vessels and 50 multi-purpose tween deck vessels. Both companies strive for operational excellence and reliability, adhering to the highest Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards and operating to strict time schedules.

BigLift Shipping is one of the world’s leading heavy lift shipping companies, specialised in the worldwide ocean transportation of heavy lift and project cargoes. Given its 45 years in the heavy lift sector, the company has many long-standing clients, which regularly place their trust in BigLift. With a modern fleet of 14 specially-built heavy lift vessels and two MC-Class module carriers, BigLift serves the oil & gas, mining and power generating industries, amongst many others. All heavy lift vessels have their own lifting gear with lifting capacities from 450 to 1,800 mt and some have a ro-ro capability for loads as high as 2,500 mt. With their large 125 x 42 metre deck the two MC-Class module carriers increase BigLift’s shipping capabilities for ro-ro cargoes up to about 16.000 mt a piece.

Spliethoff is a specialist in, among other things, the transportation of line pipe and plant equipment for the oil and gas industry and large cable equipment for the telecom industry. Spliethoff manages a fleet of over 50 modern, ice-classed, multipurpose vessels, ranging from 11,000 to 23,000 DWT. All vessels are equipped with tween decks and fast-moving cranes with a lifting capacity up to 240 mt in tandem lift.

A team of dedicated, highly skilled professionals, with years of experience and the mindset to think creatively, enables us to offer innovative and safe solutions for clients’ technically and logistically complex requirements. Careful planning, engineering, coordination and supervision to ensure safe transportation are all in a day’s work.
