Deltares is an independent institute for applied research in the field of water, subsurface and infrastructure. Throughout the world, we develop knowledge, smart engineering solutions and technological innovations. Our main focus in specialised consultancy is on deltas, coastal regions and river flood plains. Deltares works for and with authorities, energy companies, contractors and offshore engineers on value engineering, safe operations based on models and monitoring of offshore and onshore wind farms, oil & gas platforms and processing facilities as well as line infrastructure such as cables and pipelines. We bring in knowledge and expertise in:

Hydraulic engineering and hydrology
- Operational and extreme metocean, river and design conditions
- Modelling of wave forces and wave run-up
- Scour prediction, scour protection and morphodynamic predictions
- Modelling, prediction of sand wave migration
- Water inlet and outflow systems design validation

Geotechnical engineering and geology
- Geophysical site surveys, imaging and subsurface characterization
- Assessment of geohazard risks (subsidence, sea slides, earthquakes)
- Geotechnical engineering and risks quantification for piles, platforms
- Cable and pipeline trenching and protection against anchor damage and HDD
- Geotechnical and morphological aspects of marine salvage

Environmental engineering and ecology

- Spatial planning and environmental legislation
- Environmental (impact) assessments
- Remediation of spills and pollution containment
- Ecological research and monitoring plans
